California Proposition 65

What is California Proposition 65?

Proposition 65 is a law in California requiring all businesses to provide warnings to the residents of the state about possible exposure to chemicals that cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm in any product that is purchased in California.   This list includes over 900 chemicals that the state considers harmful.  All Brass and Stainless Steel products do contain one or more of these chemicals.  The law requires the warning label even if the amount of chemical or chance of exposure is extremely small.  BK Resources products meet or exceed all the safety requirements, but to meet this new law in California, we are labeling products to which it applies, as are all companies in our industry.

Why do I have a label on my product if I do not live in California?

BK Resources provides the label on every item to comply with the California requirement and since our products are sold throughout the country, including California, we will not know where every product is eventually sold or used.
